My name is Marcel Gautreau, a PhD Candidate at George Mason University.
My research interests are Austrian Economics, Public Choice Economics, and Development Economics. I am particularly interested in the dynamics of authoritarian regimes.
Specifically, much of my doctoral work has focused on Developmental States: a regime which pursues economic growth through targeted interventions aimed at supporting key industries, as opposed to enforcing universal standards of economic behavior.
I have taught Macroeconomics courses at the Principles and Intermediate levels, as well as courses in Money and Banking and Public Policy.
